Cavern Resort is situated in a picturesque valley underneath the impressive sandstone cliffs of the Northern Drakensberg in the Kuazulu Natal region.
The hotel is named in favorem of "Cannibal Cavern" and it is situated on 3000 hectares of private mountain reserve nearby Ampitheatre Royal Natal National Park.
The Cavern’s accommodation and facilities are in complete harmony with the surroundings. The Cavern's area is home to more than 200 species of birds, 150 species of trees and numerous wild animals.

There are also a wide range of sport facilities: guided walks to horse trails, jeep trips, 3 tennis courts, one of which is flood lit, a full size bowling green as well as volleyball and a lawn for croquet or putting, or swimming in pool. For the golf enthusiast there is a 9hole course.
