Lion Sands Private Game Reserve is set in one of the most picturesque areas in the Southern Kruger National Park. Lion Sands Private Game Reserve is situated in the Southern part of the 65,000-hectare Sabi Sand Game Reserve, an area well known for its exciting game viewing. It has exclusive access to the Sabie River. The source of the River includes the famous Mac Mac falls flowing from its source high up in the Drakensburg mountain range. This River is central to why Lion Sands delivers an incomparable safari experience in Africa.
Situated in a pristine wilderness area, Lion Sands is the only private reserve to have access to the perennial Sabie River, ensuring an incredible diversity of wildlife all year round.
A diverse programme of activities, customised to enhance and complement the African luxury safari experience, includes open Land Rover game-drives, bird-watching walks, wildlife lectures by the team of qualified rangers, bush breakfasts and dinners, picnic lunches, clay pigeon shooting, astronomy, treatments at the Lalamuka Health Spa, the hippopotamus tour, or spending a night out in the romantic Tree House.

Accommodation:
River Lodge is built on the banks of the Sabie River. There are 18 luxurious thatched bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, outdoor & inside shower & wooden viewing deck, safe, telephone. The bedroom area is air-conditioned with an overhead fan. All rooms have mini-bar & telephone access.
The lodge comprises the following: a private lounge and bar, 2 swimming pools, wooden viewing decks, a secluded bird hide, private hammocks, conference room, health spa, curio shop & both an indoor and open-air (Boma) dining area. River Lodge is the heart of Lion Sands. It is positioned on a site with trees dating back 800 years. Each bedroom has its own deck with a view of the river.
Ivory lodge is built on the banks of the Sabie River with magnificent views, extending onto the open sand banks of the Kruger National Park. The Lodge faces due south and is approximately 100 meters upstream of River Lodge. The entrance area is separate from the main lodge in order to ensure that guests arriving and departing have no impact on other overnight guests.
The main and entrance area comprise a private lounge, wooden viewing decks, board room, wine cellar, health spa, curio shop & both an indoor and open-air (Boma) dining area. Ivory Lodge provides its guests complete privacy. All the rooms have the following facilities: En-suite bathroom, inside and outside shower, bath and vanity basin, private viewing desk, air-conditioning and overhead fans, mini bar, safe, telephone.
Conference facilities:
The conference room at River Lodge has the following facilities: Data Projector, OH Projector, Slide Projector, Flipchart, 40 seats school room, 30 seats U shape, TV/VCR, White Board.
The conference facilities at Ivory Lodge comprise: Data Projector, Flipchart, TV/VCR/DVD, 12 delegate executive boardrooms, White Board.
